These are the “back-bone” of our Youth Ministry, Awhi comes from the Maori word meaning “to embrace”.

These groups, one for every form during High School and then small groups of young adults - are the most intensive way we have to foster “growing passionate followers of Jesus”. In these groups amazing friendships are forged and young people do grow closer to Jesus.

The format for the night is typically:

• we all meet together
• hear a testimony/brief message to inspire us
• play a mass game (usually about 90 of us racing around)
• then break off into our Awhi groups for study & discussion (year levels between yrs 9-13).
