Today’s culture celebrates and promotes individualism over community, and privacy and seclusion are valued over connection. God didn’t design us to live this way. He created us for relationship with Him and with others. We were made to belong and to be part of a community—sharing life together, growing together, and serving God together.
At HBC we believe that people grow best in the context of structured and intentional relationships. This is why we want everyone who sees us as their Church family to be committed to a home group. A home group creates a context where we are encouraged to grow in our relationship with God and where we can experience and enjoy what God does when people connect meaningfully.
When a home group meets:
- Meaningful Relationships are made:
Lasting friendships are made in home groups. Each member of the group is encouraged to be a participant and not merely a passenger, pursuing authentic community with one another.
- Bible Truth is applied to everyday life.
Home groups offer a safe place to ask questions, share life stories and together discover the reality of living life as a follower of Jesus.
- Prayer is offered:
There is power released when we join in agreement together to bring our needs, the needs of our Church and the needs of our world to God in prayer.
- Mutual Care is experienced:
We have over 500 people in our church – so we see home groups as the primary place for care within the church. It’s where you know each other and where victories can be celebrated and support & care can be given and received.
Please let us know if you would like us to help you find a home group, call our home groups co-ordinator Pastor Eamon Sullivan on 625 5050 or fill in the form here.
