We actively seek to help people in practical ways by bringing an understanding of how to cope with difficult life challenges.
Please contact your small group leader or Pastor Eamon Sullivan (eamon@hillsbc.org.nz) at the church, if you would like support:
- Home Visits - visiting and praying with people in times of need.
- Hospital Visits - Offering support and prayer with people who are sick or undergoing major surgery
- Weddings - Provide a Prepare and Enrich course for couples approaching marriage and assist in arranging and conducting wedding ceremonies.
- Funerals - helping families deal with grief, preparing for funerals, providing support and encouragement.
- Prayer - prayer is an integral part of Church life. We will pray with all those who make their needs known. Pastors, elders and members of our care team are available to pray with people all week – just contact us at the church.
Our Care team:
Because we want to support and encourage you through life’s struggles and to help process life issues, we drew together a Care Team – this group is made up of a handful of people recognized as being those in our midst who can be called upon to actively care in the most appropriate way, in times of hardship…….. sometimes it’s about visiting people in hospital, providing home support, caring for those unable to come to church, providing meals, friendship over a cup of tea, praying in times of emergency …. At HBC we want to encourage everyone to care for each other but some of us are what others would describe as “gifted-intentional-carers” - if you would like to be part of this team, please contact Eamon (eamon@hillsbc.org.nz) we love to have you onboard.
Our Prayer Chain:
We have a wonderful group of people who want to pray for you – if you have a need that you are happy to let us all know about we can put you on our prayer chain. Monthly Prayer/waiting on the Holy Spirit.
Once a month, on a Wednesday night, we get together to pray and wait on the Holy Spirit – please join us we could really do with your prayers – it is also about growing together as we learn to hear the Voice of God for our community. Contact Derek Hunt (in the church directory) via the contact us page to find our when our next prayer time is.
Support Group
The struggles of life are varied and hard for everyone. But you don't have to walk through them alone. Why not join others and walk together through these times?
